    "The process in which the polar molecules have an effect on the electronic configuration of a non-polar species or atoms, by inducing the dipole in an atom or in any non-polar molecules."

    Explanation:

    N₂ molecule-

    The nitrogen molecules are very electro-negative elements in nature, with a eletro-negativity value of about 3.0. As it contains 5 electrons in its outermost shell. As the shells of the atom at normal conditions are very stable. But, in the presence of sunlight and spark it may react with an hydrogen atom or oxygen.

    Steps-

    If a more electro-negative element its circle of effect, like Chlorine, Cl. Then the electronic cloud of the N₂ will be disturbed by the effects of the foreign atom or molecule. It will attract a pair of electrons from the N₂ molecules and dispersing its atomic cloud. Which will lead to formation of dipole-induced dipole. As the two molecules will be linked by a week attractive inter-molecular force.
