Located in one of the major cities of South Africa, the addo elephant national park is a diversified wild - life park. This park was initially made in 1931, to protect the only remaining eleven elephants species in that area. The park has been successful in its mission and the population of elephants in the park has increased over time.

The expansion of the addo national park has included the Woody Cape Nature Reserve and a marine reserve in its territories. The addo national park has a size of 1,640 km² now and its expansion work is in progress which will increase the park size upto 3,600 km².
