How do clastic sedimentary rocks form

Weathering : it causes the loosening of the rocks

Transportation:sediment is carried along the currents to the depression

Deposition : sediments are deposited and trapped in the basin

When the rocks are weathered, they are broken down into smaller particles or sediments. These sediments are then transported from one place to another by the agents such as wind, water and ice. These sediments are then deposited in a different area and over a due course of time, these sediments undergoes compaction and lithification, forming clastic sedimentary rocks. The word 'clastic' refers to the weathered and broken fragments of rock particles.
