You are investigating a chromosome in its relaxed form. what material do you see?

    The answer is chromatin. Chromatin is composed of DNA wound up in protein complexes called histones to form nucleosomes. At the start of mitosis or meioses, chromatin is folded up into a 30nm fibre which is sequentially folded up to 1400nm fibres.
