    Plant and animal cells have well defined nucleus and membrane bound organelles.

    Explanation:

    Eukaryotic cells (eu = true + karyon = nucleus) are the ones that have a membrane-bound well-defined nucleus in which their genetic material DNA is present. These cells also have other membrane-bound organelles such as mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, etc. A prokaryotic cell lacks a nucleus and membrane-bound organelles. For example, a bacterial cell is a prokaryotic cell. Since plant and animal cells have nucleus and membrane-bound organelles, they are called eukaryotic cells.
