    Effectors in anatomy are the responders to stimuli which can be cells or organs. For example, the skeletal muscle is a effector because it receives the electrical signal form the brain. The brain sends the impulse through the spinal cord to the skeletal muscle to contract or expand, the skeletal muscle receives it and does according to the signal, and hence it is an effector.
