Scientists are currently spending time and resources studying prokaryotes that are found in extreme and remote environments. Should scientists be focusing on prokaryotes that are more apparently relevant to humans, such as those that may cause disease? Why or Why not? Based upon what you learned in this module about the domains Bacteria and Archaea, in what possible ways could a better understanding of prokaryotes that live in remote or extreme environments possibly be beneficial to humans?

    Prokaryotes are single celled organisms without a well defined cell structure. They do not have a proper nucleus with a nuclear membrane and power house mitochondria are also missing from the cell com
