Why does the heart need so many parts?

Each part of the heart is responsible for a certian aspect of how you live - - your blood (pumped through your heart) oxygenates your blood, and ensures that has the nutrients you need to survive. It also carries away waste. Without each of these intricate pieces, you wouldn't be able to survive.
