    The nurse should teach the client to monitor low blood sugar. Having low blood sugar can harm a person and low blood sugar is a major concern for people with type 2 diabetes who take medication such as insulin. Low blood sugar can occur if the client skips a meal, exercises too much or takes too much medicine.
