The correct option is A. DNA replication is the process by which two identical copies of DNA are produce from one original, parent DNA. The process occurs in all living organisms and it is the mean through which traits are passed from parents to offspring. A number of mechanisms has been put in place to ensure that base pairs are accurately copied during the process of DNA replication. For instance, pairing adenosine base with guanosine during the replication process will result in an error, which can have very severe consequences, if it is not corrected.
