The synthesis of RNA from a DNA template

    Explanation:

We call transcription the process in which RNA is synthesized from a DNA template. We can divide the RNA synthesis process into three important steps: initiation, stretching and termination.

The RNA (ribonucleic acid) molecule is nothing more than a nucleotide compound consisting of a phosphate group, a sugar and a nitrogenous base. The sugar in RNA is ribose, and the nitrogenous bases can be adenine, cytosine, guanine or uracil. Unlike DNA, RNA is formed by a single strand. There are 3 types of RNA (messenger, transporter and ribosomal), both of which are synthesized in the transcription process.
