When the carbon atoms of the glucose molecule are broken apart in glycolysis and the Krebs cycle, what is the result?

    The result is the production of ATP molecules (the cell's "currency"). I'm not sure how many. I think 2 ATPs in glycolysis and another 2 ATPs in the Krebs cycle. The most ATP production happens during the electron transport cycle (producing about 32 ATPs).
