    DNA polymerase is an enzyme associated with the process of replication of DNA called DNA replication.

    DNA polymerase enzyme catalyzes the addition of nucleotides to the complementary strand from parental DNA strand (template strand) using complementary base pairing rule which states that adenine binds thymine and cytosine binds guanine. The enzyme binds the new nucleotide at 3' OH group using the energy provided by the ATP thus forming the strand in 5' to 3' direction.

    Since both the strands of the parental DNA act as a template strand and not synthesized by the DNA polymerase therefore the selected option is the correct answer.
