The semicircular canals are part of the bony labyrinth found in the inner ear. It is known for establishing and detecting equilibrium through sensory cells. This is transmitted to the endolymph by pressure using motion. On the other hand, the cochlea which is also a part of the bony labyrinth detects sound.
