How does the structure of a nerve compare to that of a skeletal muscle? Which of the descriptive terms for nerves have similar counterparts in muscle histology?

    The comparison of these structures is very interesting because they are very different histologically but have certain similarities or factors in common.

    Muscle histology is classified into skeletal muscle, smooth muscle, and cardiac muscle.

    In the cardiac muscle there is a continuity of the cells by means of desmosomal junctions to better transmit chemical impulses or signals and allow simultaneous cardiac rhythmic contraction.

    In smooth muscle, muscle fibers are innervated by the autonomic nervous system, while in skeletal muscles, they are innervated by the autonomic, that is, by the voluntary or conscious nervous system.

    These last two present myocytes submerged in structures such as endomysium, perimysium and ectomyse.

    The muscle fibers in the histological sections can be seen in longitudinal or transverse sections and they will be seen in different ways because of different perspectives, but in both sections, well-colored nuclei can be seen and central to the cell, also the cells have a tapered shape ...
