During a storm, temperatures can drop to a few degrees. This drop in temperature is enough to make the water unfit for fish. As result, the fish die and get washed up on the shore after a storm. The bodies of fish are acclimated to the right temperature to function normally. An increase or decrease in temperature can disrupt the bodily functions of the fish which can be fatal.
