    The phospholipids are the class of lipids that forms the major part of all the cell membranes. They are capable of forming the lipid bilayer because of the amphiphilic characteristic. The structure of these phospholipids molecules consists of two of the hydrophobic tails and also consists of hydrophobic head that consists of a phosphate group.

    These phospholipids being in the lipid bilayer are capable of moving rotationally. These move laterally in one bilayer and they perform transverse movement in between the bilayers. The lateral movement is possible in membrane that exhibit a fluid structure.
