Euchromatin is the type of the DNA that produces a light band when treated with giemsa stain. Eurochromatin is not thickly populated region of chromosomes and this contains actively transcribed genes, hence do not bind Giemsa stain. Epigenetic modification may lead to formation of euchromatin.
