Plants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, making the air able for us to breathe. Plants also need nutrients to work and grow. Animals need nutrients from plants and other animals, and the death of plants and animals returns these nutrients as sediment. Then, the cycle repeats itself and allows other living things to benefit.
