    B

    Explanation:

carbon dioxide can absorb infrared radiation, that is the form in which the earth emits heat that has previously received form the sun. So, even though it is a tiny portion of our atmosphere (only 0.041%), CO2 captures a significant proportion of the heat that the earth emits towards the space and keeps it in the atmosphere making it hotter.
