In vascular plants, the vascular bundles form the part of transport system. They consist of transporting tissues (xylem and phloem) along with some supporting and protective tissues. The transporting tissues xylem and phloem transport water, minerals and food respectively. If vascular bundles are damaged in any part of plant, then water, minerals and food will not be transported to that part, hence it will become weak and eventually die.
