Which type of cartilage covers the articulating surfaces of bones and connects ribs to the sternum?

    The cartilaginous rings in the trachea and the costal cartilage connects the ribs to the sternum. The same cartilage type is also found in articulating joints. The purpose of the specific cartilage is to give a smooth surface that connects and ends at the articulating bones.
