An 18-wheeler just nearly missed hitting Sam head-on while driving. Exasperated, he pulls over to the side of the road with his heart pounding. Which division of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) is taking control right now? What other symptoms do you think he's experiencing? Include in your explanation any neurotransmitters that may be released during this experience, what organs will be targeted and the response of those organs.?

    His breathing will increase too

    Adrenaline or epinephrine is released

    Heart, lungs, muscle, sense organs.

    General increase in metabolism of those organ and alertness
