A nurse needs to know if the patient has a cardiac disease. In some cases this drug has been known to cause transient cardiac arrhythmias. An overdose of this medication has also caused congestive heart failure. Medications that are taken in conjunction with cardiac issues, like warfarin can have a serious reaction with liothyronine.
