Why might a plant cell need to have a bigger vacuole than an animal cell?

    A plant cell might need a bigger vacuole than an animal cell because when a plant has stopped growing, there is usually one very large vacuole, sometimes taking up more than half of the cell's volume; plants have a large sized vacuoles because it also provides turgidity and rigidity to the plant.
