A population of birds, with various size beaks, eats seeds. smail seed can be eaten by birds with small beaks. larger, thicker seeds can only be eaten by birds with larger beaks, thicker beaks. suppose there is a shortage of small seeds but are still many large seeds

    If the shortage lasts a long time, the short beaked birds' population will decrease, if the seeds disappeared, they will either evolve or go extinct, the larger beaked birds' population would stay the same.
