Carrying capacity is the maximum population that can be supported by the resources available in the ecosystem. The population size that can be supported depends on amount of resources available in ecosystem, size of population and amount of resources that each individual is consuming. Hence, carrying capacity is an important marker of the limits of the ecosystem.
