Why are cells considered a necessary precursor to life?

    Cells are called as the basic unit of life. The simplest forms on earth are bacteria and they are made of a single cell. Cells make up the smallest level of a living organism such as yourself and other living things. A cell called as the necessary precursor of life because the cellular level of an organism is where the metabolic process happens that keep the organism alive.
