    Generally Kelp prevent waves from breaking under strong conditions. which propel paddling. Technically, Potential energy is conserved when waves pass through kelp forest. However, accelerating waves crest as Kinetic energy close the shore is reduced as result of the friction provided by the Klep surfaces, as the particles move on it. These combined interchanging energy effects reduces wave movement by the Klep
