There are so many reasons why animals migrate which include;

search for food

to avoid overcrowding

to avoid competition

for better environment or comfortability

Some animals travel relatively short distances to find food or more favorable living or breeding conditions. Most animals migrate to breed. The Atlantic Salmon begins life in a river and migrates downstream to the ocean.
