    Altering the DNA of a peanut would affect allergic reaction because DNA holds the code or information for all proteins that are synthesized by organisms during the process of gene expression. Altering DNA results in the formation of new proteins by the cells that may not cause allergies. Peanut allergy occurs when the immune system miskanely identifies peanut proteins as something harmful. Interrupting the gene expression by altering the DNA material changes the information that codes for the protein responsible for allergy and thus a new protein is formed instead. Therefore; there will be no allergy.
