A client sustains a stab wound to the chest, and a chest tube is inserted. Later the client's chest tube appears to be obstructed. What would be the most appropriate nursing action?

    Fluid fluctuation in water fluid chamber should be observed. To reduce the agitation of the client morphine should be prescribed. To reduce too much tension on the tube; thoracic binder should be applied.

    In addtion, to sustain the presure in the tube to avoid a decline, the tube should be well secured.
