    The homo sapiens is the species to which all the modern-day human beings belong, whereas the Heidelbergensis and the neanderthals were the extinct species that existed on earth during the time of Pleistocene. These species evolved in Africa.

    The homo heidelbergensis existed about 400,000 to 600,000 years ago and the neanderthals occurred some 200,000 years ago. So by comparing the age, it can be determined that the homo sapiens were not evolved from the heidelbergensis as the homo sapiens have evolved some 300,000 years back.
