    Answer and explanation:

Our primary source of energy is glucose, but when we pass long fasting periods, our body start to seek energy in reserve, but our brain doesn't have energy in a reservation like fat, so here Ketone bodies join the action. In fact, they are products of fatty metabolism through the oxidation of fatty acids that occurs in the liver.

Ketone bodies are fundamentally beta-hydroxybutyrate, acetoacetate, and acetone. In situations where there is difficulty in energy, or acid, normally produced in fat metabolism, it cannot be metabolized and is reduced from beta-hydroxybutyrate to acetone.

Additionally, Ketosis or ketonemia is a condition characterized by an abnormal increase in the concentration of ketone bodies in body fluids (blood, urine, milk, and saliva). This condition is commonly found in situations such as diabetes mellitus, prolonged fasting, malnutrition and malabsorption.
