What is the name of the outermost layer that forms a boundary around the outside of a cell?

    The region that is formed in the outermost section of the cell itself is that of the cell wall. In doing so, this provides protection to the cell and is rightfully placed on the outer rims of it in order to regulate the things that go in and out of the cell, and ensure proper functioning.
