    these two statements are wrong about keto bodies. The functional groups of ketone bodies (R (CO) R' contains of the R-groups which is the alkyl group and R' aryl group which stands for. (ketone) and the> CO (carbonyl groups).

    Although the synthesis of ketone bodies in the liver is from acetyl Co - A. it was not a direct reaction. rather the reactions occurs in three stages - the first step is the formation of acetoacetyl CoA, followed by acetoacetate formation, and lastly by formation of beta - hydroxybutarate from complete oxidation of acetoacetate.
