    Traits that have three or more phenotype may be the result of multiple alleles.

    Explanation:

    When three or more alternative genes occupies the same locus then it is known as the multiple alleles. Normally only two type of alleles are found in an organism. The multiple alleles results in the formation of appearance of multiple looks in an organism (phenotype). The blood type in human beings are the common example of multiple alleles (ABO system of blood groups is controlled by three alleles).
