The difference between animal and plant glucose is mainly in the storage form that is used the glucose otherwise a single glucose molecule from a plant is exactly the same as a single molecule from an animal. In plants glucose is stored in a form called starch, while in animals glucose is stored in a form called glycogen. The main differences between these two forms are: 1. Glycogen is made up of only one molecule while starch is made up of two. 2. Glycogen has a branched structure while starch has both chain and branched units.
