Mice eat corn. hawks eat mice. what is the source of all the energy in this food chain?

    If it was just in this food chain, the corn would be the answer. However, corn gets its energy from the sun, so that could be considered as a source of energy as well. The sun transfers its energy through its rays to the corn plant, which then stores its energy until it is consumed by the mice, which is then transferred to the hawk.
