Which part of the tree produces the maple syrup and from which part of the tree is the sap tapped?

    Sap is produced in the leaves as a result of the photosynthesis process, the phloem then brings it down through the tree, to give nutrients to the rest of the tree. It is tapped through the trunk, and taken from the phloem.
