    Chlorpromazine is an antipsychotic drug which is primarily used to treat psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia but also other conditions such bipolar disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Schizophrenia's symptoms can be divided into three broad categories; positive, negative and cognitive symptoms. The positive symptoms include the auditory hallucinations, delusions and the paranoia, while the negative symptoms include the apathy and lack of emotions. Chlorpromazine has been seen to reduce the patient's response to the positive symptoms.
