    23 Chromosomes.

    Explanation:

In meiosis, you double your DNA and split twice, so that it would be a haploid cell. Normal somatic cells have 46 chromosomes in it, but you need it to be haploid so your partner can complete the cell and give they're DNA.

a haploid cell is a half cell. so it has half the chromosomes. Also this type of cell only has 23 because it is a sex cell and is meant to merge with another haploid cell.
