    The main idea of evolution dictates that organisms will develop special traits to adapt to their environment and will ultimately pass these traits on to future generations; leading to a different organism than what existed in the past. The environment is constantly changing; it is dynamic. Once there is a change in the environment species will change to adapt so it is a fact that evolution is still taking place in the Galapagos finches because the environmental conditions does not remain the same indefinitely.
