Eubacteria have the ability to form spores and hibernate until environmental conditions improve. This state of being is called metabolically inactive.

Eubacteria are bacteria that are present everywhere; in our bodies, our food, even our homes. Most Eubacteria are dependent on others for food and live as decomposers. Some Eubacteria are detrimental to our health while others are not. And because they are dependent on their environment to live, they have the ability to become metabolically inactive in the event that environmental conditions does not support their need to live.
