    Explanation:

    In ecological studies, microevolution can be described as the changes which arise in the allele frequencies of a population over a short period of time. These changes arise due to conditions such as a mutation which might be beneficial, genetic drift, genetic flow etc. Microevolution is caused when allele for certain traits are more favoured by the changing environment.

    For example, the allele frequencies of a population might change after they become pest resistant.
