    Well, that would be because there's more and more fossil fuels being burned.

    The more we burn fossil fuels (examples of some fossil fuels include: natural gas, coal, electricity, and oil)

    The more we bring a drastic change to our atmosphere and our surroundings, which results in very, very unusual events, such as:

    acid precipitation!
