    b. monosaccharides

    Explanation:

Digestion of carbohydrates first begins in the mouth by salivary amylase which breaks down starch to maltose.

After passing the stomach food enters the small intestines, specifically the duodenum. Here maltase breaks down maltose to two units of glucose. Sucrase breaks down sucrose to a unit of glucose and one fructose and lactase breaks down lactose to a unit of glucose and one galactose. This is now in it's simplest form and can be absorbed through the villi and into the blood stream.
