    More emphasis here will be placed on eukaryotic cells where the mitochondria are the site of most of the reactions

    All human cells undergo cellular respiration. Cellular respiration produces Adenosine Triphosphate (the currency of a cell) that is needed for metabolic processes to occur within the cell. Without ATP, the cells wouldn't function.
