Sandstone bedrock is normally found on the rocky shores. Sandstones are a type of sedimentary rocks that are mainly made up of minute sized rock grains or sand sized minerals. Most of the sandstones contain quartz or feldspar or both. Sandstones can be of any color but the most prevalent colors are red, yellow, grey, pink, white etc. Sandstone colors have been found to be regional in nature. the sandstones are porous in nature and so the sandstone beds can contain water that sips through the pores of the sandstones. This property makes them great aquifers and places for petroleum deposits.
