Before performing an mri, why must technicians ask patients if they have any steel inside their body?

    The technicians ask the patients if they have any steel inside their body because the steel when subjected to a magnetic field they will become a magnet. since MRI produces a very large amount of magnetic field during its operation, then the still will be a magnet and it might hurt you
